The Cirque de Soleil visits Munich again this winter. From December 2-6 they present one of their most successful show programs “Varekai” with which they are currently touring mainland Europe at the Olympiahalle in Munich.
Its title “Varekai” means "wherever" in the Romany language and the show is an acrobatic, dance, live music and theatre tribute to the nomadic soul with over 50 partaking artists. Varekai begins with the Greek myth of Icarus, picking up where the myth leaves off, reimagining the story of what happened to Icarus after he flew too close to the sun and fell from the sky. Parachuted into the shadows of a magical forest, a kaleidoscopic world populated by fantastical creatures, this young man sets off on an adventure both absurd and extraordinary. On this day at the edge of time, in this place of all possibilities, begins an inspired incantation to life rediscovered.
Tickets to see Cirque du Soleil’s Varekai at the Olympiahalle (Spiridon-Louis-Ring, 80809 Munich) in Munich are still available from Munechenticket.de and cost from 50-95 € depending on stage closeness and view. Tickets for children cost a bit less. Below is a preview video of the show.
