By  Tuesday, 27.10.2015, 13:29    What's Happening

The Tollwood Winter Festival 2015 takes place from November 24 until of December 31 at the Theresienwiesen, Munich. “Clean is keen!” is this year’s motto of the Festival which makes waste and recycling a subject of discussion.

The festival begins just before the first Sunday of Advent, and has its own Christmas market, which lasts until December 23. The cultural events take place up to and including New Year. The program consists of theater, the "Markt der Ideen" (marketplace of ideas) and the "Weltsalon". There are many food booths and there are always great educational and fun things to do if you’re visiting the festival with kids.

Since 1988, the Tollwood Festival focuses on different contents and takes a different forms and genres each year. The festival offers music, theatre, cabaret and art with an ecological consciousness touch. Here, a large part of the cultural and music events offer free admission. Various concerts, theatre, art and other events take place every day of the festival.

This year’s highlight is ”Cirkopolis” – performed by the legendary Cirque Éloize – Tollwood presents a great show that combines the worlds of circus, dance and theatre at the Grand Chapiteau. This production is an accomplished combination of breath-taking acrobatics, infectious music and fabulous choreographically elements. Before the show you can enjoy an organic four-course-dinner – with meat or simply veggie.

Traditionally, the festival ends with the legendary New Year’s Eve party and the New Year’s Eve gala. Here is a huge list with all of the events at this year’s Winter Tollwood, and don’t miss seeing the video below.
