The Geopolitics of the Free State of Bavaria

Stratfor Global Intelligence have recently published an very interesting analysis about the Free State of Bavaria. The article is titled “Geopolitics of Bavaria”, not a particularly catchy title, but it offers a compact overview of the State and of the specific Bavarian mindset. It analyses Bavaria from the past up to the recent refugee crisis, the role of the CSU party, religion, and offers insights of why Bavaria ticks as it does. Some essential reading if you’re interested in the Bavarian way and what makes it special and different from the rest of Germany.

“Bavaria is one of those rare places where the monumental and the austere coexist, where tradition is strong but so is the desire for innovation. It is a place where villagers gather to continue the folk practice of erecting tall wooden poles to dance around them, and also where massive companies such as BMW and Siemens were born.”

Another fairly recent and very informative Bavaria resource is the Vaga Brothers “Beautiful Bavaria!!!” video which you can view below.
