Graduates of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) are considered to be among the best in the world by companies across the globe, according to the latest edition of the Global Employability University Rankings. TUM was ranked 11th in the listing, which polls the opinions of around 4,600 managing directors and recruiters in 20 countries. This makes TUM the third highest placed institution in Europe, after only Cambridge and Oxford.

TUM has again placed highly in the Global Employability University Ranking, coming in above a number of other renowned schools, including Imperial College London (15th place), University of California, Berkeley (19th) and ETH Zurich (37th). The next German universities in the list are Heidelberg University (40th place) and LMU Munich (41st place).

The Global Employability Ranking is compiled by French HR consultancy Emerging in cooperation with German research institute Trendence. The list was published yesterday, November 12, in the British magazine “Times Higher Education”.

TUM graduates were also highly rated in the Wirtschaftswoche Ranking, a similar survey of German companies published in July this year. TUM came first in the categories of electrical engineering, informatics and business information systems.

TUM also measures up well in other ranking systems and was recently named the most innovative university in Germany by the news agency Reuters. Its outstanding reputation in research was reflected in a number of other international rankings. In the QS World University Ranking, for example, TUM achieved 19th place for natural sciences this year. In the Shanghai Ranking, TUM is regularly placed among the top three German universities.
