Following the Paris terrorist attacks and the tense atmosphere ahead of the first round afterwards, fans of the TSV 1860 Munich and the FC Bayern Munich seem to have agreed to make things easier for police this time during the “Kleines Derby” of the Regionalliga Bayern (fourth tier of German football). In August, the last time the second teams of the two clubs met for a match, 27 people were arrested and one thousand policemen were present during the match. Most of the fans were arrested for throwing bottles at the opposing fans and for lighting bengalos. This time they do not plan to meet in large groups and cause any trouble. The second team of the FC Bayern Munich currently holds place 5 of the league, while the Lions II are at 13.
Fans of the TSV 1860 Munich have an additional motive to behave well, they hope to show that the Grünwalder Stadium could be used for matches of the first team also. Tickets for the derby at the 12.500 capacity stadium have sold out. The stadium is currently being used for home matches of the second teams of the TSV 1860 and Bayern, as well as for the U-19 team and the women’s team of the FC Bayern Munich.
