In 2013 the Foreigners Advisory Council of the City of Munich had tested Munich clubs in regard to racism at club doors and came to devastating results. The tester thereafter sued six of the cities clubs. He won two cases, lost one and came to an agreement with three club owners.
The “Network for a Racism and Discrimination Free Bavaria” has recently organised a test of their own on November 14 and 27 to see if the cases, on which local media had repeatedly reported, above have led to some change regarding to the policies at club doors. The results are once again shocking.
The test groups consisted of 2 white people, 2 black people and 2 observers. On November 14, the black test persons weren’t allowed entrance in 14 of the tested 20 locations, while the two white persons only weren’t allowed at one of the clubs. At the test carried out on November 27, the test groups tried to enter 25 clubs, and while the white persons were accepted at all doors, the black pair wasn’t allowed into 14 clubs.
The reasons for not allowing entrance were guest lists, claiming the club was to full, or the statement that no justification for the refusal was necessary.
