The Munich Transport Company (MVG) and the Munich Transport Association (MVV) are changing the timetable; during 2016 even some new lines will be introduced. Below are the changes in subway, bus, tram and S-Bahn.

Subway

The passengers on the U4 and U6 to Garching on the can look forward to better connections in the evenings.

U4: All lines from Odeonsplatz over Stachus and the Haptbahnhof will be extended to Theresienwiese until 1am.

U6: From Monday to Friday the 10-minute intervals to and from Garching-Forschungszentrum, will be extended by one hour, until 8pm.

Tram

Among the major projects in 2016 is the extension of the tram route in 2016 from the Max-Weber-Platz to Steinhausen.

Line 22: The lines towards the Lothstraße will be extended again. The frequency of the line will now only decrease during in the summer and Christmas holidays.

Line 25: The Tram now runs on Saturdays during the day in 10- instead of 20-minute intervals to and from Grünwald.

Line 25: Once the new line is completed, the tram line 25 will be extended from the Max-Weber-Platz to Steinhausen (S-Bahnhof Berg am Laim).

Buses

The express bus X30 runs on a shortened line between the stations Harras and Ostbahnhof. The stops Partnachplatz and Max-Weber-Platz are no longer served.

A new highlight is the Stadtbus line 150 between the Hauptbahnhof, the university district (LMU, TUM) and the English Garden, which is expected to begin operations in late May.
