The Winterschlussverkauf (winter sale) in Germany has begun. The winter sale in Munich has begun yesterday and visitors from all over the world have hit the stores and malls of the Bavarian capital. In bright sunshine and mild temperatures bargain hunters flooded the city. Due to the mild temperatures and the resulting great inventory pressure, regular prices of winter clothing are often discounted by 70%. Bargains can also be made at electronics and other stores for the next two weeks.
The WSV traditionally begins on the last Monday in January. According to the Retailers Association, three-quarters of Bavarian retailers are taking part in the winter sales.
