The Rockavaria Festival is set to take place at the Olympiapark in Munich from May 27-29, 2016 for the second time. Muse, Metallica and Kiss headlined the first instalment of the Rockavaria Festival in 2015, also on the bill were Incubus, Faith No More, Judas Priest, Five Finger Death Punch, Limp Bizkit, Accept, Within Temptation and many more.
Iron Maiden, Nightwish, Iggy Pop (only German gig in 2016), Sabaton, Slayer, Mando Diao, In Extremo, Powerwolf, Anthrax, Ghost, Tremonti, Gojira, The Wild Lies, The Raven Age and tuXedoo have been added to the line-up for the second instalment of the festival.
One of the most interesting new additions to the bill of the festival is “Gutterdämmerung – The Loudest Silent Movie on Earth” which will have its German premiere screening at the Munich festival. Gutterdämmerung will also be shown at Donington’s Download and a host of other festivals this summer. Nightwish are set to headline Friday, May 27. A day ticket for Friday costs from €74.50. Iggy Pop is head to headline on Saturday night. The 68-year-olds new (and according to him, his last) album “Post Pop Depression” is set for release this Fryday, March 18, but you can already stream it below, and you should, it’s excellent. The gig at the Munich festival will be the only Iggy Pop show in Germany this year. He also prominently features in the film project mentioned above.
