Five Star Hotels: Mandarin Oriental

Munich’s Mandarin Oriental Hotel is located at the first borough of the city – Altstadt-Lehel (Altstadt means old town). Located in a quiet street, Mandarin Oriental Munich is a five-star luxury hotel, close to many of the city’s most famous sites. Elegantly appointed and beautifully designed in Neo-Biedermaier, it offers mix of Oriental style and German tradition and charm.

The Mandarin Oriental Munich is a relatively small hotel with 48 rooms and 25 suites. It offers excellent cuisine. Celebrity chef and restaurateur (and actor) Nobuyuki “Nobu” Matsuhisa has partnered with the Hotel and opened his first restaurant in Germany at Munich’s Mandarin Oriental Hotel earlier this year. Below is a video from the opening which shows how well sushi goes with lederhosen.

If you are not into Japanese-Peruvian fusion cuisine, Munich’s Hofbräuhaus is only a two minute stroll away.
