If you are looking for an Irish pub, an Australian bar, a bar with karaoke, with a live band, a sports bar, a hamburger place or anything in-between in Munich, Ned Kelly’s Australian Bar/Kilians Irish Pub is the place for you. The two next door establishments share the same kitchen and are run by the same people. On top of everything mentioned, the friendly staff at both places gladly answers your Munich related questions and you are also very likely to meet people looking for people to meet, but you can also just stare at the memorabilia hanging from the walls, if you’re shy. In its sports bar function, the bar/pub offers Champions League, Bundesliga and Premiership matches in good company and on large screens.
Ned Kelly’s is not only Munich´s only Australian Bar but one named after an Irish-Australian infamous folk hero, Ned Kelly (1855-1880). Even today he is remembered as the legendary Bushranger who wore an Iron suit when he fought off the Police at Glenrowan. His daring and notoriety made him an iconic figure in Australian history, folklore, literature, art and film.
Ned Kelly’s kitchen offers starters, meals and desserts. Anything, from skippy steaks to lamb chops, chicken wings, burgers, nachos and other finger food. The international selection of beers includeAugustiner, VB, Fosters, Heineken, Pilsen Urquell, Bulmers, Guinness and Kilkenny. All prices are reasonable and the menus are available online. Live music by various bands and singer-songwriters is on six days a week at the Kilians (folk, rock, blues, reggae, classic, cover-bands, etc.), the pub doesn’t charge entrance.
