Falk’s Bar is located at one of the Bavarian capital’s and the whole country’s best luxury hotel, the Bayerischer Hof in the famous hall of mirrors dating back to 1839, the only room at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof to survive the Second World War unscathed. The combination of tradition and modernity – with the beautifully adorned stucco ceiling and the interplay of colours at the bar – make Falk’s Bar a popular haunt for Munich’s night owls. The bar was named in memory of Falk Volkhardt, the late owner of the hotel. The Bayerischer Hof is still owned by and run by the Volkhardt’s, Falk’s youngest daughter Innegrit Volkhardt. She is also responsible for the design inspiration of the bar.
The bar team will recommend classic cocktails, long drinks, own creations and fine snacks from the garden. The bar is well known for its creative cocktails and the fantastic choice of Whisky’s. Even if hotel bars aren’t your thing, you shouldn’t miss this one. The Sueddeutsche Zeitung has called the bar “the pearl of the oyster (Bayerischer Hof)” and said that it was so beautiful, that you almost forget to drink. It’s also the perfect place for an aperitif before visiting the adjoining Cinema Lounge, the hotels own luxury cinema. A nice cocktail at Falk's costs some €15.
The Hotel is located at the start of a pedestrian arcade with exclusive shops and in the banking/business district. All major sights in walking distance: Cathedral Church of Our Lady (Frauenkirche), Viktualienmarkt square, the opera, museums, the Residenz Palace and the Hofgarten Park.
