Munich’s sushi restaurant Sushi & Soul is a special sushi place for many reasons. It’s located at the Klenzstr. in trendy Glockenbach and was opened in 1999. The atmosphere at the restaurant is more casual than at the other sushi places, besides in sushi they are also specialised in whisky and even make their own sushi-wine. The restaurant is one of the biggest sushi places in Europe and you usually don’t have to call in advance for reservations.

The central part of the restaurant is taken in by a super long table in the Japanese isakaya-restaurant tradition, but there is also an area with regular tables and also an area with tatamis where you can dine sitting on the floor. The sushi menu of the Sushi & Soul is massive and the prices are very reasonable, if you come early (6pm-7:30pm) or very late (after 11pm) there are many dishes and cocktails available for only half the price. Speaking of cocktails, next to their sushi, the restaurant also offers a high quality cocktails menu and a menu for vegetarians and meat lovers. You can have a look and download the menu from here.

The restaurant is also known for its regularly held sushi courses, rum tastings and whisky and wine seminars. The place definitely has sushi, as well as soul.
