All Summer Long: Free Fitness for All at Munich’s Parks

By  Tuesday, 24.5.2016, 10:49    Activities

Qi Gong, Energym, Zumba, Yoga, Volleyball, Pilates and other trainings are being offered daily and for free in parks throughout the city again this summer as part of the annual “Fit im Park” series of free trainings. The City of Munich runs the free programs at the Luitpoldpark (near to the Bamberger Haus), the Westpark (at the Gymnastics Meadow), the Riemer Park (at the playground near the Badsee) and the Ostpark (Gymnstics Meadow at the lake).

The programs run from May until the end of September, every day (if the weather permits). From 8 am - 8:30 am there are Qi Gong classes at the Luitpoldpark and the Westpark, at the same time there are “Active in the Morning” courses at the Riemer Park. On Sunday mornings from 9:30 am - 10:30 am there are free Yoga classes at the Wetpark. Every day from 6 pm - 6:45 pm there are daily changing programs running at all four of the parks. All you need to do to take part in any of said classes is bring along a towel and a mat.

Organisers provide a net and a ball for you and your friend if you want to play on Mondays from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Luitpoldpark, or at the same time on Thursdays at the Westpark. None of the events described take place on rainy days. You can download a flyer with the complete schedule of Fit im Park 2016 from here.
