The Hofbräukeller restaurant, beer garden and event venue was built from 1892 – 1894 and like some of the other beer halls in Munich has had a very turbulent history. The traditional Bavarian restaurant is located in Munich-Haidhausen, one of the most popular districts of the city. It is owned by the Hofbräu brewery, but run by the Steinberg family.
If you are visiting the restaurant with kids it’s good to know that great importance is given to family-friendliness: every day from noon to 8 pm (at weekends from 10 am) the Children's Land is open with somebody in charge. Here children can play, while their parents enjoy their meal. The Hofbräukeller is a pleasure for everyone, not only because of the reasonably priced meals (especially the daily menus) and you can still sense the authentic side of Munich at the restaurant.
The beer garden of the Hofbräukeller is one of the most popular ones of the city. During the summer it also hosts the Sausalitos cocktail bar with lounge chairs in the sand. The beer garden is going to be packed during the matches of the UEFA 2016 European Championship, as the matches will be shown on big screens.
