Muenchenticket.de has added an interesting event to their offer yesterday, July 18, 2016. For the first time ever, there is going to be a Benefit Gala for the Hellabrunn Zoo.
After five years of renovation work, Hellabrunn Zoo will reopen the doors of its Elephant House on Wednesday, 5 October 2016. To mark the occasion, the zoo will host a benefit gala on 7 October 2016 at 6:30 pm. The event will be the first of its kind in the history of the Munich zoo.
On 7 October, the proceedings for the evening will be led by the ANTENNE BAYERN presenter Indra Willer-Gerdes (on the photo below with the elephants), who along with the Munich Symphony Orchestra, singer Ivy Quainoo and other artists will provide an evening of unforgettable entertainment under the magnificent glass dome of the newly renovated animal house. "The gala will be a unique, one-off event in the history of the Elephant House," says zoo director Rasem Baban. "Never before has there been an opportunity to stage such an event inside the elephants' home - and after 7 October there will probably never be another chance to do so again."
Originally built by the architect Emanuel von Seidl over 100 years ago, the building has been given a 21st-century makeover thanks to meticulous planning and generous financial support. The renovated Elephant House now features state of the art construction technology. However, the listed building still retains its historic neo-Byzantine style façade, which is protected under the guidelines of the Office for the Conservation of Historical Monuments. "The preservation of this historic building, a Hellabrunn landmark, was always a top priority for this renovation project," says Christine Strobl, Mayor and Chairman of Hellabrunn Zoo. "So I am all the more pleased to soon be able to present our visitors with the wonderful result, particularly the new glass dome which allows natural light to flood in."
Guests attending the Elephant House Benefit Gala will be treated to an exceptional gala programme (incl. five-course menu) in the new Elephant House. Naturally, the animal residents will also be present - but safely in their stalls away from the guests.
Only a limited number of places are available for the Elephant House Benefit Gala. Tickets are now exclusively available via www.muenchenticket.de: Price € 475 per seat.
