Standing at the Marienplatz square and watch the Glockenspiel, surfing the Eisbach, walking at the Chinese Tower, visiting the Frauenkirche, or enjoying the view from the roof terrace of the Hotel Bayerischer Hof (or the Mandarin Oriental) - and all this from home, on the road or abroad. The City of Munich’s muenchen.de has now developed a new app for Munich and introduced it at an event at the Filmcasino yesterday, August 4,2016. Virtual reality technology makes it possible to have a 360 degree view and can see the locations up close - as if you were standing there.
Munich is the first German city to have developed such an app. Dr. Lajos Csery, CEO of muenchen.de, expressed his satisfaction: "Munichers will be again pulled under the spell of their city with the new VR App. Tourists can now see the highlights of the city before they visit. For the economy, it offers new presentation possibilities. Ultimately, it proves Munich’s pioneering role in innovation." Muenchen.de has developed the new app in collaboration with Munich based Coach Communication GmbH.
