As of today, August 8, 2016 the beginning of the 183rd Oktoberfest is less than 40 days away. We have already written about the prices for beer (€10.40 to €10.70) at the Oktoberfest 2016 and todaymerkur.de has also published the prices for a Mass of beer at one of the tents at the Theresienwiese. Besides beer, they have also listed the prices for other beverages, while prices for traditional Oktoberfest meals and snacks haven’t been announced yet. You can follow this link to a PDF file with the prices of beverages for this year’s instalment of the beer festival. A column of the table also shows the price increase compared to last year.
Surfing one of our favourite Munich based websites, we stumbled upon a beer voting. Since merkur.de is predominantly read at the Bavarian capital, the results of the voting can be seen as semi-official vote by locals. The poll is on-going since mid-July and you can still vote for your favourite Oktoberfest beer here. The current standing is as follows:
1 Augustiner, 602 votes
2 Hacker-Pschorr, 245 votes
3 Paulaner, 121 votes
4 Spaten, 77 votes
5 Hofbräu, 75 votes
6 Löwenbräu, 59 votes
6 million beer loving visitors are expected at the 183rd instalment of the traditional Bavarian beer festival in 2016. This year the Oktoberfest is set to take place at the Theresienwiese from Saturday, September 17 until Monday, October 3 (German Reunification Day).
